January Playgroup!

Our next playgroup will be on Saturday, January 7th, from 2-4pm. It will be at Kerry's house in Londonderry. The address was posted in the Facebook group, and is also listed in the directory. (It will not be posted here for privacy reasons!). If you need the address or directions, please email saturdayexplorers@hotmail.com.

As always, new faces are welcome, and there is no need to RSVP! Hope to see you there!

December Playgroup Reminder!

Our December playgroup will be held on Saturday, December 3rd, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.  It will be at the Atkinson Fire Station at 1 Academy Road, in Atkinson, NH.  This will be our first annual holiday party, with a special visit from Santa!  The kids will have the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap, tour the fire station and see the trucks, participate in holiday activities, and just play! 

If you have not yet had the chance to join us, feel free to just "drop in"!  You do not need to RSVP or sign up to attend our playgroups.  We'd love to meet you!

Directory and Email List

We are in the process of putting together a Saturday Explorers email list and directory.  Since some of our members are not on facebook, we want to make sure that everyone is getting updates regularly!  If you would like to be included on our email list please send your email to:  saturdayexplorers@hotmail.com

We are also putting together a directory of Saturday Explorers members.  Since some members are unable to meet each month, or are not able to stay in touch with everyone regularly, we thought it might be helpful to have a directory of our members' contact information.  If you would like to be included in the directory (it's totally optional...include as much or as little info as you would like!), please email your: parents name(s), child with DS and age, children without DS and ages, hometown, email address, phone number, maybe health-related issues you have experience with in case someone had a question for you (heart, ears, tonsils, etc), and/or any other information you would like to share about yourselves! Again, this is completely optional, and you are welcome to include as much or as little information as you'd like. You can send the directory information to: saturdayexplorers@hotmail.com.

November Outing Reminder!

Just a reminder that our November playgroup will be held at NUThin' But Good Times in Merrimack, NH, on Saturday, November 5th at 10:00am.  This is an indoor play place that has different play areas for children at different developmental stages.  They have a separate room with foam mats and blocks for the little ones, a small play structure with slides and tunnels for crawlers and small walkers, and a large play structure for the big kids!  The facility opens at 10:00am, so the intention is to beat the crowds by going earlier in the day!  There is a large dining area, and we will set up shop next to the toddler structure, in the raised dining section.  Please see the "upcoming events" tab for specific details about pricing, footwear, etc!  We hope to see you there!

October Playgroup This Saturday!

October Playgroup Change

The date of our October playgroup has changed to Saturday, October 8th.  We will also be meeting at 2:00 pm rather than 10:00 am, as we noticed that many of the little ones' nap times are midday!  Please see "upcoming events" for October details.  Looking forward to seeing everyone!

First Outing - Saturday, September 10th!

Just a reminder that our first outing will be this Saturday, September 10th!  We will be meeting at the town commons around 10:00am in Londonderry, NH, and will be walking to Mack's Apples to go apple picking!  Please see the "upcoming events" page for more detailed information!

There are a few parking spots at the town common, or you may park in one of the nearby parking lots. 
For those of you who may be arriving a little later, we will likely be walking to Mack's Apples around 11:00am, so we have time to hang out and meet eachother first.  As of right now, there is only one picking station open at Mack's Apples, so we will be going to whichever station is open that day!

Welcome to Saturday Explorers!

Thank you for finding us!  Saturday Explorers is a "traveling playgroup" for children with Down syndrome and their families.  We meet on the first Saturday of every month to play, socialize, and explore what New Hampshire has to offer!  Some months are spent at our "home base" having a quieter playgroup, and other months are spent on family outings around the state!

Saturday Explorers was created by two moms of little boys who have Down syndrome.  After their boys were born, they realized that there was a shortage of activities and support for children with Down syndrome and their families in their local area.  They decided to create a playgroup where children could come together to socialize, and parents could meet other parents who have experience raising a child with Down syndrome. 

Saturday Explorers welcomes children of all ages, as well as expectant parents.  We look forward to seeing you on our next adventure!
