October Playgroup - Keene Pumpkin Festival!

Saturday, October 20 - Keene Pumpkin Festival!

Location: Keene, NH

Time: 11:45 am

Details: Our playgroup will be venturing out to Keene, NH to participate in the Pumpkin Festival!!! This is a very busy and crowded event, so the details of where we are meeting are laid out carefully below! Please call if you need any one of us!

Parking: Parking is available throughout the city, in designated lots, as well as on side streets. This link has exact locations and details: http://pumpkinfestival2011.org/Visitors.html If you would prefer, you may also meet the Young family at their house in Spofford, NH, and follow them in to town. They will be leaving their house at 11:00am.

Meeting Location: We will be meeting as a group at 11:45am, in the Bank of America parking lot: 20 Central Square, Keene, NH. From there, we will walk as a group to line up for the costume parade down West Street and Main Street. (Children typically dress in their Halloween costumes for this event, but it is not required!)

Parade: The children's costume parade begins at 12:30pm, and will begin on West Street, ending on Main Street. We will walk as a group, and all family members are welcome!

Pumpkin Festival: After the parade, there is lots to see and do around Main Street: pumpkins, food, games, crafts, vendors, etc. Feel free to walk around with your families, or as a group.

The Young's House: In the afternoon, the Young family (Jayci's parents) have invited us to their house to hang out, let the kids take naps, etc. If you are planning to stay for the fireworks at night, you are welcome to pass time at their house also! New Hampshire Buddy Walk!

Just a reminder that the New Hampshire Buddy Walk is just around the corner!  The walk will be held on Sunday, September 16th, and walking will begin at 12:00pm.  Walkers are encouraged to arrive by 11:00am to enjoy activities with their families and friends.  The walk location will be at Keach Park in Concord, NH.  The address is 2 Newton Avenue, and it is located right off of Loudon Road.  The location is new for the Buddy Walk, and will allow plenty of space for picnicing, playing, and walking.  It should be a great day!  If you plan to participate in the walk, you can register at the link below!  Hope to see you there!

August Pool Party!

Just a reminder that our August pool party is tomorrow, Saturday, August 4th from 2-4pm.  It will be in Atkinson, NH.  The address is posted on our facebook page, but if you would like it sent directly to you, please email saturdayexplorers@hotmail.com.  We will be having a cookout also, so come with an appetite!  The weather looks great!

Exciting News!!!

Saturday Explorers now has a playgroup chapter in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire!!!  With our group members spread widely across the state, this group's location may be more accessible for families in the western part of the state or those located in southern Vermont.  This group will meet in the same way as the original Saturday Explorers group, and will be led by one of our fabulous moms, Lisa!  Please see the "Monadnock Region Chapter" tab for more information about upcoming events and contacts. 

May Playgroup Change Today!!!

Due to very soggy weather, the playgroup will be held at Kerry's house in Londonderry at 10 am today instead. The address is posted on Facebook, and I'll email it out as well. Looking forward to seeing you!!!

Just a reminder that our May playgroup will be at Griffin Park in Windham, NH tomorrow, May 5th, at 10:00am.  (Address is under "Upcoming Events" if you need it!)  As of right now, the weather is supposed to cooperate, so we are sticking with our original plans!

We will reevaluate the weather Saturday morning.  If it will be too cold or wet, the playgroup will be held at Kerry's house in Londonderry instead.  We will post our final decision by 8:00am!  Please check back here tomorrow morning to see where we'll be!  Either way, we look forward to seeing you!!!

April Playgroup...RSVP Required!!!

Our next playgroup will be held on SUNDAY, April 15, from 8:30 - 10:30 am. It will be held at the YMCA in Goffstown, NH. The morning will include open gym time, and a gymnastics class. The Y is aware that our group has a wide range of ages and motor abilities, so they have arranged for two gymnastics classes. One class will be more of a "Mommy/Daddy and Me" class for the younger kiddos, and the other will be an independent class for the older kiddos. Siblings are welcomed and encouraged to attend, as they will get to participate in the classes as well! The cost per family for the morning is $10 (regardless of number of children).

In order for the YMCA to plan accordingly, this is one of the rare times when you must RSVP in order to attend the playgroup. Please reply by April 1st if you plan to attend.
